Big objection to the doctrine of election

One of the big objections to the doctrine of election is that if election is true, we really have no reason to evangelize. If God does it all, He doesn't need us.

This is not really an objection. It's more of a statement of fact followed by a human rationalization. God elects, therefore evangelism is not needed, therefore we do not need to evangelize, therefore election leads of to violate the command of God to evangelize.

Of course, the logic is flawed. Just because God does not need us does not mean that God does not allow us to participate in evangelism. God wants us to participate. He wants us to see the miracle of salvation up close and personal. He is glorified when we see and enjoy His work.

Bottom line, we evangelize because God told us to evangelize - because God is glorified in salvation.
